About TIG Tools
What TIG Tools is
TIG Tools is a collection of free web tools for small, frequent tasks: formatting JSON, compressing an image, building a tracking link, checking colour contrast or working out a percentage. Each tool does one job and explains how it works.
How the tools are built
Almost every tool runs entirely in your web browser. When you paste text or choose a file, the work happens on your device and the data is not sent to our server. Each tool page has a privacy section that describes exactly what happens to your data for that tool.
The tools use standard browser features such as the Web Crypto API for random values and hashes, the Canvas API for images and the Intl API for numbers, dates and languages. The site works without an account and without installing anything.
How we keep it free
TIG Tools may show a small number of clearly labelled advertisements. Ads are never placed inside a tool, over its controls or next to download buttons, and the tools work the same whether you accept advertising cookies or not.
Languages
The site is written in English and translated into other languages. Translations are produced with machine translation and checked before a language is published; a language appears in the language menu only when its interface is fully translated. If you notice a translation error, please tell us through the contact page.
Corrections and feedback
If a tool gives a wrong result, or an explanation is unclear or out of date, please write to us through the contact page with the steps to reproduce it. We fix confirmed errors and note significant changes on the affected page.
