- Convert, then download each JPG file or all of them as a ZIP.
How it works
BMP is an uncompressed bitmap format from Windows. Files are large; it is mainly needed by older software and some devices.
JPG (JPEG) is the most widely used format for photos. Its lossy compression keeps files small, but it has no transparency and every re-save loses a little detail.
JPG uses lossy compression: the quality setting trades file size against fine detail. 80–90% is a good default for photos. Converting re-encodes the image, which removes EXIF metadata such as camera details and GPS location.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. The browser decodes and re-encodes every image on your device, so the files never leave your computer or phone.
Will converting BMP to JPG reduce quality?
JPG uses lossy compression: the quality setting trades file size against fine detail. 80–90% is a good default for photos.
How many files can I convert at once?
It depends on your plan's image limits, shown on the Pricing page. A free account allows more files per batch than visiting without an account.
Privacy
Images are converted in your browser and never uploaded. Only anonymous usage events (no file data) are recorded if you allowed statistics.
