How to use it

- Adjust the options, such as quality or background colour, if shown.
- Convert, then download each GIF file or all of them as a ZIP.
How it works
JPG (JPEG) is the most widely used format for photos. Its lossy compression keeps files small, but it has no transparency and every re-save loses a little detail.
GIF supports simple animation and one transparent colour, but only 256 colours per frame, so photos look grainy.
GIF is lossless, so the result keeps every pixel of the decoded JPG image; it may be larger than the original. Converting re-encodes the image, which removes EXIF metadata such as camera details and GPS location.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. The browser decodes and re-encodes every image on your device, so the files never leave your computer or phone.
Will converting JPG to GIF reduce quality?
GIF is lossless, so the result keeps every pixel of the decoded JPG image; it may be larger than the original.
How many files can I convert at once?
It depends on your plan's image limits, shown on the Pricing page. A free account allows more files per batch than visiting without an account.
