Check a username

How to use it

  1. Type one or more keywords, such as your name, a favourite animal or game.
  2. Choose a style and the platform whose username rules the names must follow.
  3. Pick a format (CamelCase, lowercase or with underscores) and generate.
  4. Lock the names you like, generate again for more, and copy them.
  5. Use the checker to test a name you made up yourself.

How it works

Each idea combines one of your keywords with words from short lists written for this tool (for example Pixel + Plays, Cozy + Maple, Captain + Noodle), sometimes with a number such as 77. With no keywords, a word from the style's list is used instead. Choices come from your browser's cryptographic random generator.

Every name is checked against the selected rules and dropped if it breaks them. Twitch usernames: 4–25 characters, letters, numbers and underscores. YouTube handles: 3–30 characters, letters, numbers, periods, underscores and hyphens. For Kick the tool uses a general rule of 3–25 letters, numbers and underscores, because Kick's exact rules were not confirmed; check them when you sign up. "All three platforms" uses 4–25 letters, numbers and underscores so one name works everywhere.

Platforms have further rules this tool cannot check, such as reserved words, names that are already taken and content policies. Try the name on each platform before you rely on it.

Frequently asked questions

What are the Twitch username rules?

Twitch usernames are 4 to 25 characters long and use letters, numbers and underscores. The tool only shows names that meet these rules when Twitch is selected.

Can I use the same name on Twitch, Kick and YouTube?

Choose "All three platforms" to get names of 4–25 letters, numbers and underscores, which fit all three rule sets used here. Whether the name is still free on each platform has to be checked there.

Does the tool check if a name is available?

No. It works offline in your browser and cannot see the platforms' user lists. Search for the name on each platform before you register.

Why were my keywords removed?

Usernames on these platforms use Latin letters and digits. Accents are stripped (é becomes e), and characters such as Cyrillic, Arabic or emoji are dropped.
