How to use it
- Choose a style that fits your group, or keep mixed styles.
- Pick the tag format and how many letters the tag should have (2–5).
- Optionally filter by first letter and name length.
- Lock the names you like, generate again for more, and copy them.
How it works
Each name joins a first word and a group word from lists written for this tool (for example Iron + Legion, Ember + Wardens, Waffle + Gremlins), sometimes as "The …" or "… of …". Choices come from your browser's cryptographic random generator.
The tag is made from the name itself: the initials of its words first, then the consonants and vowels of the last word until the tag has the length you chose. "The" and "of" are skipped, so "Iron Legion" gives [IL], [ILG] or [ILGN] and "Order of Frost" gives [OF]. Tags use only A–Z and 0–9, which most games accept; check your game's own limits for length and characters.
Length and "Starts with" apply to the name without the tag; "Starts with" ignores a leading "The". There is no check against existing clans.
Examples
Competitive squad
Style Elite, tag [TAG] with 3 letters: names such as "[ASY] Apex Syndicate".
Casual friends group
Style Funny, no tag: ideas like "Potato Bandits" or "The Couch Goblins".
Fantasy MMO guild
Style Fantasy, tag {TAG} with 4 letters, starts with R: names such as "{RKPR} Rune Keepers".
Frequently asked questions
How long can a clan tag be?
It depends on the game; many allow 2 to 5 characters. This tool makes tags of 2 to 5 letters from A–Z and 0–9. Check your game's rules before you register one.
Can I use the tag without brackets?
Yes. Choose "TAG without brackets" and the tag is put before the name as plain letters, or choose "No tag" to get only the name.
Will the name be unique in my game?
The tool cannot see game servers, so a name may already be taken. Generate a shortlist and try them in the game's clan creation screen.
