How to use it
- Type one or more keywords that describe your videos, separated by commas or new lines. Any language works.
- Optionally choose a niche, add a location or brand tag, and set how many tags you want. Click a suggestion to leave it out.
- Copy the tags as one comma-separated list and paste it into the tags field.
How it works
YouTube's tags field accepts up to 500 characters in total. This tool counts the commas between tags and adds 2 characters for each tag that contains a space, because YouTube wraps such tags in quotes; that is the cautious way of counting, so the list should always fit.
YouTube describes tags as playing a minimal role in discovery; they mainly help when your topic is often misspelled. Keep them accurate: YouTube's policies do not allow excessive, misleading or unrelated tags. This reflects YouTube's guidance at the time of writing and may change.
How the suggestions are made: your keywords are cleaned (letters of any alphabet, digits and underscores are kept; spaces, punctuation and emoji are removed) and expanded into variants such as English singular and plural forms and combinations with your niche, location and format. Hand-picked English tags for the chosen niche are added, duplicates are merged regardless of case, and the list is ordered from your exact keywords to broad tags. Nothing is looked up online, so no popularity figures are shown: check how a tag is actually used on YouTube before relying on it.

Frequently asked questions
How many tags should I use on YouTube videos?
This generator selects 15 by default for YouTube videos and suggests at most 30; you can raise the maximum to 60 if you need to. More tags rarely help: keep the ones that describe the content precisely. Platform guidance changes, so check YouTube's current help pages.
Where do I put the tags on YouTube?
Tags go in the Tags field of YouTube Studio (video details, under “Show more”), separated by commas. They are not hashtags: no # sign, and viewers do not see them.
Does the generator use AI, trends or real post counts?
No. The suggestions come only from the words you type, simple spelling rules and a hand-written list of tags for each niche. The tool does not contact YouTube or any other service, so it cannot know how popular a tag is, and it never shows invented numbers.
