    How to use it

    1. Choose, drop or paste your image.
    2. Choose Fit or Fill and trim transparent borders so the emoji uses the whole square.
    3. Check the previews and file sizes; remove the sticker size if you only need an emoji.
    4. Download the PNGs and upload them in Server Settings under Emoji or Stickers.

    How it works

    Discord shows custom emoji small in messages and larger on their own, and resizes uploads to 128 px, so a 128×128 px image is the recommended size; the file must be at most 256 KB. Server stickers are 320×320 px and at most 512 KB. These figures are from Discord's help pages at the time of writing and can change.

    The tool resizes in your browser with repeated halving and high-quality smoothing and saves transparent PNGs. Each file's size is compared with the limit and a warning appears if it is over. Only still images are produced: animated GIFs are reduced to their first frame. This tool is not affiliated with Discord.

    What size should a Discord emoji be?

    128×128 px is recommended and the file must be 256 KB or smaller. Larger images are scaled down by Discord.

    Why is my file over the limit?

    Photos and noisy textures compress poorly in PNG. Crop tighter, use flatter colours or a smaller size.
