How it works
Ideas are combined from short word lists written for this tool: nouns and adjectives for each topic, show suffixes (Show, Hour, Radio, Club…), pairing words, question frames and brandable word parts. Your own word, if given, is used in about a third of the show, pair and question ideas and in brandable names. The result is checked against the filters and duplicates are skipped.
Choices use the browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues). There is no AI and no check against existing shows: before you publish, search podcast directories and domain or social media handles, and check trademarks for the name you choose.
"Starts with" ignores a leading "The". Length counts every character including spaces and the ampersand.
Examples

Topic Business, style Show name: ideas such as "The Margin Hour" or "Scrappy Startup Radio".
Your name in the title
Type "Maya" as your word with style Pair to get ideas like "Maya & Coffee"; with Brandable you get coined words built on it.
Short and memorable
Length Short and style Alliteration give compact names such as "Daily Data" that fit on cover art.
Frequently asked questions
Does the tool check if a podcast name is taken?
No. It works offline in your browser and has no directory of shows. Search Apple Podcasts, Spotify and the web, and check the domain and social handles before deciding.
Why is my word not in every name?
Mixing your word with topic words gives more variety. It appears in roughly a third of show, pair and question ideas; generate again or lock good ones to collect more.
What makes a good podcast name?
Short enough to read on a small cover, easy to say aloud and spell after hearing it, and clear about the topic. Say your shortlist out loud to a friend and see what they remember.
