Organize PDF

See every page as a thumbnail, put the pages in a new order, remove the ones you do not need and add blank pages where you want them. The PDF stays on your device.

How to use it

  1. Choose or drop a PDF. A thumbnail of every page appears.
  2. Drag pages into a new order, or use the left and right arrow buttons under each page.
  3. Delete pages you do not need, rotate pages, and insert blank pages with the plus button.
  4. Select Create PDF and download the reorganized document.

How it works

The tool builds a new PDF from the pages in the order you arrange them, using pdf-lib. Pages are copied, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality.

A blank page gets the same size as the page before it (or the page after it when inserted at the start), so it fits the rest of the document. Rotating a page here adds 90° clockwise to its display rotation, as in the Rotate PDF tool.

Dragging works with a mouse. On touch screens and with the keyboard, use the arrow buttons, which do the same thing; each move is announced to screen readers.

Bookmarks, document metadata and interactive form fields are not carried over to the new file. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs cannot be organized.

Examples

Scanned in the wrong order

A scanner fed pages as 1, 3, 2, 4. Move the third thumbnail one place earlier and create the PDF to get 1, 2, 3, 4.

Printing double-sided

Insert a blank page after the title page so that chapter one starts on a right-hand page when the PDF is printed on both sides.

Removing an empty scan

Delete the blank backs of single-sided originals that a duplex scanner captured, leaving only pages with content.

Frequently asked questions

Can I copy a page so it appears twice?

Not in this tool. To repeat pages, use Split PDF with ranges such as 1, 1, 2 and the “Put all ranges into one PDF” option.

Is the original file changed?

No. You download a new PDF; the original on your device stays as it was.

Why can't I drag pages on my phone?

Mobile browsers do not support drag and drop for this kind of list. Use the arrow buttons under each page to move it earlier or later.

Privacy

The PDF is read, previewed and rearranged in your browser. It is not uploaded, stored or included in analytics; only an anonymous event that the tool was used is counted.
