How to use it
- Choose or drop the PDF.
- Choose the slide size: 16:9, 4:3 or the same shape as the PDF pages.
- Choose the image quality and whether to add the page text as speaker notes.
- Select Convert to PowerPoint and download the PPTX file.
How it works
Every page is rendered with pdf.js at 120 or 200 DPI relative to the slide size, compressed as JPEG and placed on its own slide, centred and as large as possible without cropping. The presentation is written with the open-source pptxgenjs library and opens in PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides and LibreOffice Impress.
Because slides contain images of the pages, the result looks exactly like the PDF, including fonts, charts and layout, but the text is not editable on the slide. With speaker notes enabled, the text that pdf.js finds on each page is added to the notes, which keeps it searchable and lets you copy passages. Scanned PDFs have no text, so their notes stay empty.
The Same as the PDF option uses the first page's size (limited to PowerPoint's maximum of 56 inches); pages with a different shape are centred. Very long documents produce large files, especially with high quality. How large a PDF you can convert depends on your plan.
Examples
Presenting a report
A 12-page A4 report becomes 12 widescreen slides with each page centred, ready to present full screen, with each page's text in the notes for the speaker.
Slides exported as PDF
A deck someone sent as PDF converts back to a 16:9 PPTX where every slide fills the screen, so you can reorder slides, add new ones or annotate them in PowerPoint.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the text on the slides?
Not directly: each slide holds a picture of the page, which guarantees it looks right. Turn on speaker notes to get the text of each page in the notes, where you can copy it into new text boxes.
Why is there white space around my pages?
The page shape differs from the slide shape, for example a portrait A4 page on a 16:9 slide. Choose Same as the PDF to make the slides the shape of the pages.
How can I make the file smaller?
Use Standard quality. The file size grows with the number of pages and the image resolution.
Does it work with Google Slides and Keynote?
Yes. The PPTX file follows the standard format and opens in Google Slides, Keynote and LibreOffice Impress.
