Wedding Seating Chart

Plan who sits where: paste guest names, set up your tables, then drag guests onto tables (or use the menus) and print table lists with an overview.

Runs in your browser No sign-up

One guest per line. Add a group after a comma to keep people together, e.g. "Anna Novak, Bride's family".

0 guests, 0 seated, 0 not seated · 0 tables with 0 seats

Drag a guest onto a table, or use the menu next to each name (works with the keyboard and on phones).

Not seated (0)

    How to use it

    1. Paste your guest list, one name per line, optionally with a group after a comma.
    2. Add tables: how many, seats per table and shape. Rename or resize any table under Edit table.
    3. Drag guests to tables, choose a table from the menu next to each name, or click Auto-seat the rest.
    4. Fix any warnings about full tables or missing seats.
    5. Save the chart as a JSON file to continue later, and download or print the PDF.

    How it works

Each table shows a small diagram with its seats, filled in as guests are added, and turns red when it has more guests than seats. The status line counts guests, seated guests and seats, and warns about over-full tables, too few seats overall and repeated names.

Auto-seat places only guests who are not seated yet. It takes the largest groups first and puts each group at a table where it fits completely, preferring a table that already has members of that group and otherwise the tightest fit. A group bigger than any free table is split across tables. Guests you placed yourself are never moved. Seat order within a table is not planned.

The PDF has an overview of all tables, a numbered list per table, the guests not yet seated, and an alphabetical guest-to-table list that is handy for escort cards. Your chart is not stored in the browser: use Save (JSON) to keep it and Open saved chart to continue.

    Examples

    Reception for 80

Paste 80 names with family or friend groups, add 10 round tables of 8, auto-seat, then swap a few guests by hand.

    Head table plus rounds

Add one long table of 12 renamed "Head table" and seat the wedding party there first, then add round tables of 10 for everyone else.

Working on it with your partner

Save the chart as JSON, send the file, and the other person opens it with Open saved chart on their device.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Dragging works with a mouse on desktop; on phones and with the keyboard, use the table menu next to each guest's name.

    Is my guest list saved?

Not automatically. Nothing is stored on a server or in the browser; download the JSON file to keep your chart and open it again later.

How many guests and tables can I add?

Up to 1,000 guests and 150 tables with up to 40 seats each, which covers most events.

How do I keep couples and families together?

Give them the same group after a comma in the pasted list. Auto-seat keeps each group at one table when one has enough free seats.

    Privacy

Guest names stay in your browser. Saved JSON files and PDFs are created on your device; only the PDF fonts are loaded from this site. Nothing is uploaded.
